About LLCL
Introduction
The Lala Lajpatrai Memorial Trust was registered on 13 th July 1959. The
trustees got a land on lease from the government. A seven story building was
erected on the land. On 10 th February 1972 the trust leased the college building
to Lala Lajpatrai Institute for education purpose. The aim of the Trust was to
establish, conduct, control and manage school, institutes, academics and
colleges for promoting education in all departments by ways and modes best
suited to the needs of the people. Its aim was to promote cultural, literal and
social welfare of the people. The institute established a library and built up a
large collection of books, periodicals and journals. The main aim of the institute
was to take an active interest in the social and moral welfare of the community.

The college was named after the great freedom fighter and Lion of Punjab Shri Lala Lajpatraiji . The Institute started Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics in the Academic year 1972-73. . In 1995 the Lala Lajpatrai Institute
of Management was started to meet the growing demand of management education. In 2005 the Lala Lajpatrai College of Law was started by the institute to offer the LLB degree. On 14 th November 2007 the college received Punjabi
Linguistic Minority Status. The college continued to grow under the dynamic leadership of the chairman of the Trust Dr. Kamalji Gupta and the Trustee Dr. Sunilji Gupta.
Lala Lajpatrai College of Law offers a distinguished 3-year LLB degree. Our campus boasts of excellent infrastructure, including fully equipped classrooms with projectors and AC, along with facilities like a Moot court, canteen, auditorium, conference room, seminar hall, and a well-stocked library featuring e-books and databases.
We take pride in our esteemed faculty who are dedicated to nurturing students’ academic and professional growth. Practical learning is emphasized through
visits to authorities such as courts, forensic labs, jails, and police stations, enriching students’ understanding of legal practice.
